Rwanda’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Nepal, Jacqueline Mukangira, has proposed Nepal for a bilateral aviation agreement. During her courtesy meeting with Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale, at the latter’s office today, the ambassador proposed the Minister go for the bilateral aviation pact.

As the ambassador insisted on the agreement, citing that it would help promote tourism business in both countries and thus further consolidate the bilateral ties. On the occasion, the ambassador urged for the exchange of mutual cooperation in the culture and tourism sectors.
The Minister responded to the proposal positively and assured of addressing it through due process. The Minister said, “We have taken Rwanda’s proposal for the bilateral aviation agreement positively and it will proceed towards that end through an official channel.”

Ministry’s Secretary Maheshwar Neupane and Joint Secretary Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane were also present on the occasion.
Jacqueline Mukangira, was in Katmandu to present her letters of Credence to Bidya Devi Bhandari, the President of the Nepal as the first Rwanda’s ambassador to Nepal.

During the ceremony, President Bhandari welcomed Mukangira and congratulated her on being the first non-resident ambassador of Rwanda to Nepal. She congratulated President Kagame on Rwanda’s achievements, under his leadership such as the level of women’s participation in governance in Rwanda, and the country’s contribution to peacekeeping missions in the world.
On her side, Mukangira conveyed President Bhandari greetings from President Kagame, as she committed to enhancing the bilateral cooperation between both countries and bringing it to greater heights.
